WVABPC 2010 Picnic
The club picnic on August 21st, 2010 in Deming Park was a great success. Wonderful weather, good food, and great conversation was the order of the day and if you missed it, well, there's always next year!
The picnic was great, the day was beautiful, and the food was homemade goodness, key lime pie, chicken 'n' noodles, cheesie potatoes, fried chicken, green beans and potatoes, cookies, cakes.
Tim Pillow from Evansville brought some items from to show, Tony, Jo, Kelsey, and Neal Stringfellow from Sullivan had some really nice stuff. I bought a nice amber wax sealer from Kevin Pringle of Casey, Illinois. A rare chero cola bottle from Paris, Illinois was there as well.
Ron and Sandy Glasscock from Poland, Indiana brought some good chicken 'n' noodles with them, Doug and Cindy Porter from West Terre Haute brought some fresh fruit, Scott Stepp and his son brought some rare root and rall jars and gave a presentation on them.
Ron and Dian brought some cookies and a whole lot ot good coke bottles, Ray and Patty Thomas brought a key lime pie. Ray is a friend of the club and does the club web site. Andrew and Jack Pigg from the M&J mall in 12 Points brought some homemade eggrolls his wife Murna makes. John and Mary Newman from The Shadow auction barn brought the grill and some goodies, and did I mention the new Midwest Regional director for the Federation of Historical bottle collectors Martin Van Zant, was there, he's also our newsletter editor and brought a box of real good stuff. Tony won the big coke bottle shootout so many good coke bottles in one place it was hard to pick the winner. Ed.
